आन्ध्र प्रदेश के विशाखापट्टनम में एक कंपनी में अचानक गैस लीक होने से एक बच्चे सहित तीन लोगों की मृत्यु हो गई। 1000 से अधिक लोगों को आंख में जलन और सांस लेने की शिकायत है। मौके पर दमकल और पुलिस प्रशासन मौजूद है। यह घटना है विशाखापट्टनम के आरआर वेंकटपुरम गांव स्थिति एलजी पालिमर इंडस्ट्री की है।

सृजन गुमल्ला,जो कि ग्रेटर विशाखापट्टनम मुंसीपल कार्पोरेशन की कमिश्नर है। उनके अनुसार यह घटना आज रात 2:30 के करीब की है। PVC गैस के रिसाव के कारण यह घटना हुआ। फिलहाल प्रशासन पानी का छिड़काव करके स्थिति को नियंत्रित करने में जुटा है। कंपनी के आस-पास के गांव के लोगों को सुरक्षित स्थान पर ले जाया जा रहा है। वहीं जिनको किसी भी प्रकार की शिकायत है उनका इलाज चल रहा है। गैस रिसाव के कारणों का अभी पता नहीं चल पाया है।
